Chek out the fact checked article by Robbert Sharrat, the facts show that : A recent report into crypto energy use, done by Coinshares, which is the only honest, data-driven report ever to be undertaken[4], concludes that almost half of global bitcoin mining takes place in Sichuan. Overall, they estimate that 77.6% of global bitcoin mining is powered by renewable energy. You base your conclusions on the article in the Guardian that you refer to, that uses the wrong and NOT fact checked data from blogger De Vries. This is how the myth of dirty bitcoin mining has come alive in the world. So I don’t blame you and respect your opinion. I used to believe this too, until I did some deeper fact check research. I encourage everybody to do this, it has opened up my eyes to another reality of Bitcoin mining.
