The Amazing Story of a Climber Finding a Box of Jewels on the Mont Blanc
There’s some good in climate change too
Back in 2013, a French Alpinist is struggling his way to the top of the Mont Blanc, one of Europe’s highest and most appealing peaks.
The mountain has a deadly history of dangerous storms and fatal avalanches.
The mountaineer crosses the Bossons Glacier at a slow pace but with full focus, being aware of the dangers. Suddenly his eye catches an unusual reflection. A metal box sticking out of the melting ice.
He manages to open the box and his heart jumps a beat.
In the clear French high altitude sunlight, he discerns around 100 glittering stones. A treasure trove of emeralds, rubies and sapphires buried in ice for someone, one day, to be found. The stones are labelled Made In India.
This is his lucky day. Will he keep them?
Hell no.
Without any doubt, the man returns to the nearest town and walks straight into a Police station.
In the years that follow, the Mountenier that chose to remain anonymous almost forgot about his lucky day. Until a cold winter December day in 2021.
