How to be a millionaire without having much money

Sometimes I wake up, sweating, and I feel a dark fear around my heart. What if that money doesn’t come in to pay the next month rent? The anxiety is followed by shame.

A distant voice from the past slaps me in the face with the fact that I don’t own a house or have much savings. A man of my age must have made his wins in our Western society. He should be on the “safe” side. Own assets that work for him after working to achieve those assets.

To make things worse, I just started a new career, as an artist.

Addiction comes in all flavours and colours

In her book Belonging, Toko-pa Turner looks into what it takes to go into exile, into the dark night of the soul, and return in society as a Shaman from the underworld of our lonely city jungles.

Like her, I always felt myself an outsider, never fitting in. To numb out the pain of not belonging, I have been addicted most of my life.

With intervals of happier, healthier and lighter years, I’ve been addicted from when I was around 25.

The age when real life kicked me in the ass.

My reply?

I started gambling and losing serious amounts of money. Hard-earned cash. Capital that was supposed to buy me a house, some security, a pension. …

BTC — the safe haven for the extremely rough times to come

In my last post, I wasn’t so friendly for Bitcoin, claiming that the flagship currency bubble would pop soon.

It did. For the odd $10k it corrected.

My latest story was about us, humanity, speeding down the train track into oblivion and the brakes are off. Or better, the brakes slowly are melting down with the same speed as this complete non-sensical shit show around us increases with the hour.

Capitol Hill Siege, Trumps Twitter Trimmed. Tech Companies rampaging in full communist modus operandi, banning competitors like Parler. Just because… they can, replacing the role of our cull-pit puppet politicians.

The latest? …

For the rare reader that reads till the end instead of vomiting hate posts on Facebook ( I received in total 39 comments, not all sweet), you know that the story was not about Bitcoin.

My latest story was about us, humanity, speeding down the train track into oblivion and the brakes are off.

The 3 phases of growing into blogging maturity you should know about

Medium is like a lover for me. I play her with my fingers and she screams out exciting stats when I do it right. She makes me come back all the time, seduces me with those blank white pages.

Last week I’ve hit the milestone of 300 published blogs on this platform.

The good news?

I love this platform and it has brought me many great things in my writer’s backpack. This blogging muse makes me come back all the time, even when we had our crises and moments of despair.

Her downside is that I’ve spent around 1000 hours writing while earning around $4.000,-. That’s because of one viral piece. Everybody deserves their moment of fame on Medium. …

Here is the reality check you don’t like to see

Did you buy some Bitcoin along its way to the stars? Congratulation. You’ll be rich soon if you’re not loaded already.

Or you may lose it all tomorrow.

Since Bitcoin, our economy, the current money system, is a zero-sum game. Meaning, in the end, we will all lose when we keep on going like this.

Now you probably think; Shut up, let me celebrate the latest parabolic erection of the flagship currency or the world.

And you’d be totally right. You are, in this short moment in time, the winner of the market. …

What I learned from moving 4 times in 4 months

I used to stick to my home like a fly to a honey jar.

My last long time residency was a villa in Ibiza on a cliff at the sea. With epic views. 2020 took that away from me.

I needed to let go. It hurts to let go of your dream. I enjoyed each and every day of those 8 blessed years in my dream house.

And here comes the good part. Life showed me in the past that something better is still to come.

Excuse me?

Yes. In Holland, I found a dream house in the middle of the forest with epic views and silent like a frozen lake in January. I put so much love, money and life in that apartment since it felt like a marriage for life. …

What living in a community taught me about being real

Spirituality isn’t a ‘trend’. Becoming spiritual isn’t about gaining a new personality, getting a new vocabulary or wardrobe, buying crystals or doing yoga. It’s about returning to our natural state — Unknown Author

I woke up at 04.30 AM after another night of light troubled sleep and started contemplating to leave the community I am living in at the moment.

Some idealistic feelings and desires for safety and family had driven me in the arms of this experiment to co-create a heart & mind coherent, safe and ‘spiritual’ family.

One month later, I feel exhausted as if an energetic truck has run me over. …

4 steps to let unity beat separation

X-mass Eve dinner 2020.

A nice bunch of people together around a nicely decorated Christmas table. One of the guests turns out to be a famous songwriter and singer. I listened to his songs when I was younger and now he’s sitting right next to me.

There is a sense of excitement in the room.

One of the other guests prepares the food. He’s a chef cook so apart from it being x-mass Eve, we are looking forward to a night with delicious food, good wines and a different range of people, all living on Ibiza.

In these few days in the year, we have the incentive to overcome our differences and meet us in where we are human. In the house of my friend that evening in Ibiza we do a great job. Until the moment Covid stuck its ugly head around the corner. …
